Westwood is a rural community located at an elevation of 5,200 feet at the junction of the Sierra Nevada and Cascade Mountains.  The district has four schools; Fletcher Walker Elelmentary is a Kindergarten through seventh grade school, Westwood High School serves students eighth through twelfth grade. Currently two school are not staffed.

Westwood has approximately 1,500 residents within its boundries. Enrollment at Fletcher Walker Elementary School is 135 students.  Westwood High School has a current enrollment of 85 students. 

Currently the district has one Superintendent/Principal for all schools. The staff at all sites provide a quality education that encompasses the vision that; we expect our students to meet academic standards, to become life-long learners, and productive citizens prepared to take their next step in life.  Character education is strongly emphasized and modeled daily.
